Brian Murphy, Lawley Benefits Group partner

Brian Murphy, partner of Lawley Benefits Group, was recently featured in an article titled “Clearing Up Health Exchange Confusion” by Annemarie Franczyk of Buffalo Business First. You can read the article here, however a paid subscription is required.

The summary of the article is how, with the advent of the Affordable Care Act, small businesses will look to private exchanges, like Lawley Marketplace, for healthcare coverage.

Murphy said big changes are coming when the definition of small business expands under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) from 50 employees or less to 100 or less. The change takes effect Jan. 1, 2016.

“Some employers are self-funded or experience-rated and must go to community rated,” Murphy said. “It will be a huge game changer.”

In addition, Murphy announced Lawley Marketplace will add identity theft protection next year to its menu of coverage plans and services.
