Lawley Expands Property and Casualty Division

Lawley, a Top 50 independent insurance broker and family-owned firm specializing in insurance, employee benefits, retirement planning, and wealth management, is excited to welcome AmyRae Nessa as an Insurance Advisor in Buffalo, NY.
With more than a decade of experience supporting businesses across Western New York, Nessa brings a client-first mindset and deep industry insight to Lawley’s growing team.
Specializing in construction, hospitality, and business development, Nessa partners with clients to understand their operations, identify exposures, and build insurance strategies that protect their people and assets. In her role, Nessa will advise businesses on coverage options, risk quality, claims, audits, and policy changes, helping them navigate complexity with clarity and confidence.
Nessa’s background uniquely positions her to serve Lawley’s clients. Prior to joining the firm, she served as Membership & Sales Director for the Construction Exchange of Buffalo & WNY, working directly with contractors, developers, and industry leaders. Through that experience, she gained firsthand insight into the challenges businesses face, including workforce and safety concerns, project timelines, and regulatory requirements. This perspective enables her to anticipate client needs, ask the right questions, and deliver solutions that are both practical and proactive. Her ability to build strong relationships and connect organizations with resources supports Lawley’s focus on personalized, high-quality service.
Nessa earned a bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State University and is a member of the Construction Exchange of Buffalo & WNY, the National Association of Women in Construction, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP), and the Buffalo Niagara Innovation Creativity & Entrepreneurship Council (B-NICE). She is actively involved in the community, supporting Veteran’s One Stop, the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce, and the Amherst Chamber of Commerce LIFT Council.
“We’re excited to welcome AmyRae to our team. Her experience working directly with the construction and business community gives her a unique perspective that will greatly benefit our clients” says Mike Lawley, Principal at Lawley.
“AmyRae’s ability to build meaningful relationships and connect organizations with resources makes her a natural fit for our Construction Team,” added Chris Ross, Principal at Lawley. “We look forward to the impact she will make.”
