On May 3rd at 9 am, Lawley Retirement Advisors and J.P. Morgan’s Chief Global Strategist, Dr. David Kelly, will be hosting a webinar entitled “Late-Cycle Investing: A Guide to the Markets.”

Topics discussed will include:

  • There are fiscal, economic and political roadblocks to the Trump agenda. While we expect an eventual cut in corporate taxes and fiscal stimulus, both may be much more modest than analysts expect.
  • Future U.S. earnings growth won’t be as strong as analysts currently estimate thanks to a strong dollar and some potential challenges from energy. Although stock valuations now look somewhat expensive, there remain opportunities within the asset class.
  • The Fed has been very cautious in raising interest rates in recent years, but thanks to improving economic data in the U.S. and abroad we expect a modestly more aggressive pace of tightening going forward, leading to negative real returns in many fixed income markets.
  • With U.S. valuations looking expensive and economic growth prospects unimpressive, it might be time to look for alpha abroad, particularly in a rebounding Europe and more-promising emerging markets.
