BUFFALO, N.Y. (April 29, 2022) | Lawley, an independent family-owned insurance broker and employee benefits firm, is proud to announce the promotion of Bob Madden to Associate Partner of Lawley Employee Benefits.

Madden started his insurance career in 1993. Prior to joining Lawley Employee Benefits, he was a vice president at First Niagara Benefits Consulting and Gernold Agency for nearly two decades. At Lawley, Madden excels at developing creative benefit solutions while meeting his clients’ benefits goals and objectives. Madden has developed an expertise in health insurance captives.

“Bob’s strategies and methods of controlling healthcare costs are used across our clients in every industry,” said TJ Revelas, Managing Partner of Lawley Employee Benefits. “We are excited to see Bob move into the Associate Partner role and bring his experience, innovation, and leadership to Lawley’s clients.”

Madden’s primary role as an Associate Partner and Employee Benefits Consultant is to strategize and implement targeted employee benefit solutions, specifically medical captives. Lawley’s medical captive program, led by Madden, provides employers with a creative health insurance solution for their employees. This program gives an employer the benefits of being self-insured without all of the risk that comes with doing it on their own.

Madden is accredited with his New York State Life & Health License, a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation, and a Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation.

He is actively involved with the Self-Insured Institute of America (SIIA) and has been a two-time presenter at the SIIA Annual National Education Conference & Expo. Madden has a B.A. in Economics from The State University of New York at Buffalo, an A.A.S. in Construction Technology from Erie County Community College, and his GBA designation from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Madden is on the Berkley Council of Captive Advisory Partners, a Board Member for Horizon Health Services, volunteers for the Skaneateles Lake Association and Buffalo Community Fridge organizations, and, along with his wife, Betsey, hosts exchange students from various countries.

“It is a privilege to be part of the Lawley organization. I am excited to move into the Associate Partner role and continue leading the health captive program at Lawley,” said Madden.
