With 20+ years of experience, Michael leads underwriting initiatives with a focus on client retention and growth, supporting self-funded employee benefit programs through financial analysis, reporting, and strategic recommendations. He works closely with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and actuarial partners to evaluate claims data, reserve requirements, and underwriting considerations, while developing customized reports and benchmarks to help clients make informed decisions. Michael also oversees reporting processes, supports request-for-proposal evaluations, and serves as a resource on client analytics, financial performance, and underwriting strategy.

Prior to Lawley, Michael gained extensive experience as a credentialed actuary within the health insurance industry. His background includes actuarial analysis, underwriting, and data analytics across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid insurance programs. Through these roles, Michael developed a broad understanding of healthcare trends, financial performance, and risk management, which he utilizes in his role at Lawley.
