Michael works closely with human resource and financial professionals to understand their businesses. He specializes in strategic benefits planning, cost-control strategies, compliance, health care reform, and benefit admin technology.

Michael has taken an active role in Lawley’s proprietary medical captive, Proactive Health, and he is developing expertise in captive insurance as an alternative risk solution. He also possesses expertise in private benefit exchanges and helped launch Lawley Marketplace in 2013.

Michael’s expertise in private exchanges as an alternative delivery method expands across the concept, including defined-contribution, healthcare consumerism, and long-term planning. Michael has been a guest speaker and has educated numerous audiences on this topic. As a subject matter expert, Michael has shared his perspective on New York state’s health care exchange for small businesses and private exchanges in Buffalo’s Business First publication.
