NEW YORK STATE WORKERS' COMPENSATION CONSTRUCTION CODES/RATES

~RATE INCREASE~

Effective October 1, 2011

As part of our mission to keep our clients informed, please be aware of the following information regarding the Workers' Compensation changes effective on policies renewing on or after October 1, 2011. 

1. Most Loss Costs (base rates) have increased by an average of 5-9%.  However, some classifications Loss Costs reduced.
    
2. The payroll cap has changed from $1,109.75 to $1,159.44 which represents another increase of 4.5%.
    
3. The NYS assessment fee is increasing from 18.1% to 20.2%.
    
4. The Territorial Differential Surcharge is now 0%.
    
5. Construction Employment Weekly Payroll Assignments:   Maximum              Minimum
   Executive Officers                                                          $1,159.44                $600.00
   All other Construction Employees                                    $1,159.44                 N/A
   Sole Proprietors and Partners                                         $1,159.44                $600.00

This represents an increase in your workers' compensation insurance costs and needs to be considered when bidding on upcoming projects.
