William J. Lawley, Jr.
In his capacity as an owner and co-managing partner, Bill is responsible for leading and setting the vision and strategy for the entire Lawley organization.
Bill joined Lawley in 1986 and has extensive knowledge of the insurance industry. Under his leadership, the firm has grown to become one of the most dynamic insurance organizations in the Northeast. Business Insurance Magazine consistently ranks Lawley as one of the “Top 100 Insurance Brokers” in the country.
He is actively involved in the handling of large accounts and has expertise in manufacturing, schools, automotive, hospitality and healthcare fields. Bill plays a critical role in negotiating and implementing extremely competitive and innovative programs for many clients.
Bill is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University and is actively involved in many community organizations including United Way, Catholic Health Systems, Canisius High School and the Diocese of Buffalo.
Christopher D. Ross
Chris is one of the owners and leaders of the Lawley organization. He began his career at Lawley in 1986. As co-managing partner, he is responsible for mergers, acquisitions and the financial vision and strategies for the organization. Our merger activity has resulted in the expansion of our northeast footprint and Lawley being recognized as a large, regional agency.
Chris is also actively involved in major accounts and has extensive knowledge of construction, real estate development and risk management.
Before joining Lawley, Chris spent several years with KPMG and Ernst & Whinney as a C.P.A. He holds as BBA in accounting from Niagara University and currently serves on the boards of Niagara University, Mercy Flight, and Buffalo Renaissance Foundation.
Michael R. Lawley
As a Partner and Director of Sales for Lawley, Mike is responsible for setting the sales strategies for the entire organization. In addition, Mike is actively involved in writing and handling large accounts. His knowledge of sales and the insurance industry provides Mike with the tools to obtain the best terms, conditions and pricing for clients.
Mike joined Lawley in 1995 as an Account Executive and became a Partner and Director of Sales in 1999. Prior to Lawley, Mike worked in New York City, where he worked for Cigna Healthcare in employee benefit sales.
Mike has a degree in business from St. Bonaventure University and is actively involved with Trocaire College, Canisius High School, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and Sisters Hospital.
