History

A Family Affair

Founded in 1945 by Ray and Edna Lawley, and incorporated ten years later, Lawley focuses on business insurance, personal insurance, and specialty lines. When Bill Lawley, Sr. joined his parents, he concentrated on growing the business by partnering with producers and agency owners across New York State.

The third generation of Lawleys joined the agency in the mid-1980s, and continued to grow the company. In 1999, Lawley Benefits Group was established to provide organizations with a full range of employee benefits consulting services, from health insurance to retirement plan consulting to communication planning and materials.

Today, the Lawleys own and manage the 50th largest independent insurance agency in the country. Their partnership consists of Bill Lawley, Jr. and Chris Ross, managing partners, Mike Lawley, partner and director of sales, and Todd Best, partner and president of Lawley Automotive Dealership Solutions.

Over the years, Lawley has experienced substantial growth, becoming one of the most dynamic insurance organizations in the Northeast with seven offices in New York State, and one office in New Jersey. We will continue to grow to provide the best products and services for our clients.
